Frozen on the Cold Mountain

人問寒山道 寒山路不通 夏天氷未釋 日出霧朦朧 似我何由居 与君心不同 君心若似我 還得到其中

The Road to the Cold Mountain

The poem in the title is my favorite of the Han Shan (kanzan, cold mountain) poems:

People ask about the road to the Cold Mountain--
The Cold Mountain road doesn’t go through.
The snow here doesn’t melt in the summer,
The sunrise is obscured by fog.
How did someone like me get here?
My heart is not like yours—
If your heart was like mine,
You would be understand and be right here.

(trans. J. Morrison)

Forging links

My purpose in doing this blog has nothing to do with ego; it is an attempt to punch ideas out through cyberspace in hopes of receiving new ideas back in exchange. I would love to link to sites of interest and to friends and I would appreciate links to this site if you think it worthwhile.

Links to Good Places, Friends, etc.
